The delivery address API for emerging markets

PickSpot Address API turns messy, informal addresses in high-growth cities into verified pickup points and residential lockers your couriers can actually find — across web, app, and chat checkouts.

Overview

What is PickSpot Address API?

In many emerging markets, “address” means landmarks and descriptions, not street names and postcodes — so deliveries break.

PickSpot Address API fixes this by letting your checkout collect a simple handle (e.g, sophia@pickspot.world) instead of free-text directions. We resolve it into a standardised delivery object anchored to a real node in the city — a residential PickSpot locker or a trusted neighbourhood pickup point or courier hub.

You keep your existing cart, payments, and order management. PickSpot runs underneath as the address brain, so every order has a clean, deliverable destination.

Deliver to pickup points and lockers

Route parcels to any PickSpot node with a single API call — whether it’s a residential locker, courier depot, or neighbourhood shop. Give customers reliable pickup options where home addresses don’t work.

Pickup flow via SMS icon

Pickup via SMS & WhatsApp, not guesswork

When a parcel reaches a PickSpot node, the customer gets a one-time pickup code by SMS or WhatsApp with clear instructions. They collect when it suits them — no calls.

Route by zone icon

Route by node instead of narrative

Your systems get a fixed node ID with coordinates and hours, not a story like “big gate near the kiosk”. Plan denser routes, cut rider time, and improve first-attempt success in congested cities.

Secure, timed access icon

Secure hand-offs for high-risk environments

Every check-in and pickup is tied to a handle, a node, and a time-limited code. You get a clear audit trail from drop-off to collection — crucial where fraud and last-mile risk are higher.

Vision
Map of Africa

Growth in e-commerce and social commerce has outpaced basic address infrastructure in many emerging markets. Deliveries are still coordinated in chat threads and phone calls instead of through reliable endpoints.

PickSpot offers a different approach: every address in our system resolves to either a partner pickup point or a residential locker. That’s it. Customers get a handle they can reuse everywhere, and platforms get a consistent delivery object for every order. The more orders flow, the more pickup points and lockers we stand up to match demand.

By standardising how destinations are defined, PickSpot turns pickup points and residential lockers into programmable infrastructure for high-growth cities. That unlocks more reliable delivery for merchants, better route economics for couriers, and a simpler, safer experience for customers across web, app, and social commerce channels.
